Watching silhouettes through a stained window
Slowly fading into the background of the city under a fractured skyline
You told me that these shapes were beautiful
just seconds before you passed out

This cold punishment hurts like a kiss
and maybe that's why we couldn't remember anything else
You wrote confessions, I read them as poetry
I thought not knowing was hard
but knowing was even worse

Make up on the inside, you'll never know where it came from
We're scared to death of what those eyes might show us
I'll stop talking when you say so
